Course Six: Mastery of Video Analysis
About:
One must be have achieved Master Level in order to begin working towards Grand Master Level Certification. In tennis, to become a true student of the game, we believe it is much more than just going to watch pro tournaments, reading a tennis magazine, or attending one or two coaching seminars a year to obtain some sports science information. We feel the technologies of recent times now allow us as coaches to push our sport further than ever before and to become a true student of the game it is our duty to our sport to master these. In particular Video Analysis we feel is the ultimate study tool to date as what a coach can see with the naked eye is only a glimpse of what can be learned form the study of frame by frame video. It truly makes the invisible visible.
Through video analysis one can study technique, footwork, tactics, positioning, measure distance and time intervals for case studies of serves, returns etc. and many more applications that we have not even began to touch upon yet. Unfortunately there are very few coaches throughout the world whom even know or understand the benefits of video analysis software programs such as Dartfish and in this course we will teach you exactly how to use Dartfish specifically as it is the world leader. It is our goal to inspire coaches across the world to add to the game of tennis and to propel the sport of tennis to new heights through our coaches becoming experts in video analysis and true students and pioneers of the game. Hopefully one can see what impact our visual tools from our website are already having upon the new capabilities of studying the game. Most of the study tools are directly taken from our video analysis program Dartfish and then published to the web.
Benefits:
Whatever type of coach one is whether it be a professional tour coach, college coach, or club coach, once one passes out of this course and begins to work with a video analysis program their coaching level will immediately begin to bloom to new heights. One will begin to see tennis from a completely new different perspective like never before. They will discover things on their own that they never new before. Through the use of video analysis coaches will become the most confident they have ever been about technique, footwork, tactics etc simply because of the validation of evidence that video analysis offers to the coach. There is no guesswork involved. The data is all factual and concrete based of what actually occurs. Simply video does not lie and you will get the benefit of all this factual data. We simply teach you how and what to look for and educate you on the uses to get you started down this new road of enlightenment.
Coaches will also be able to increase their lesson income substantially through integrating video analysis into private and group lessons of which will greatly benefit the player and also benefit the coach as they can charge more for their lessons. Coaches can easily tape a lesson and email their students the analysis of the lesson or even analyze a match and email or put the match analysis on cd for their student if they choose. The ultimate benefit of all coaches who obtain a Grand Master Level Certification is that these coaches if they so desire can truly impact the tennis world with their knowledge of the technical side of the game and truly be leaders in the sport of tennis.
